Jiasui Li
Jiasui Li is a final-year PhD student from the Centre for Marine Science and Innovation, The University of New
South Wales, Australia. Her PhD project aims to identify disease-protective bacteria for marine macroalgae (seaweeds) and investigate the mechanisms that bacteria contribute to host disease resistance, by assessing the interactions between probiotics and host-associated bacterial communities (using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing related techniques), and comparative genomics (among the identified probiotic and commensal Phaeobacter spp. strains).
