Seka Seneviratne
Seka Binaramali Seneviratne is a PhD candidate at the Grimwade Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation. Her project is based on the ‘Conservation Treatments: Biodeterioration Methodologies and their Effect on Paintings on Canvas in Tropical Climate’. She worked with the Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Milan, Italy to study microbiology in cultural heritage as a visiting PhD student. She graduated from the Department of Chemistry, the University of Bologna, Italy in 2019 with a master’s degree in science for Conservation-Restoration of Cultural Heritage. Her master thesis is on Studies on cinematographic films: degradation, analyses and conservation practices. Her interest lies in the field of analytical chemistry and microbiology in cultural heritage.
